Carols & Cocoa

November 30 @ 3:30 PM6:30 PM

Overview

This is a second annual event, which was a big success last year. Our inspiration is the manifestation of a Hallmark Christmas movie! We want to welcome everyone to Historic Longwood and give you a rare chance to explore the inside of some of the old buildings. Then, we open the holiday season with a festive reception, a tree-lighting ceremony, and some favorite Christmas carols that the whole family can sing along.

Schedule of Events

Come for all or part of our festivities to kick off the Christmas season in Historic Longwood.

3:30 PM – Open House History Tour
Local historian Jason Byrne will guide you into several historic buildings within the district, including the Longwood Inn, Bradlee-McIntyre House, Clouser House, Historic Civic Center, Inside-Outside House, and Christ Church. Learn about the history and see these beautiful buildings.

4:30 PM – Holiday Reception
Inside the Historic Civic Center, we will have treats furnished by Pixie’s Magical Corner, hot cocoa served by the Rotary Club, and hot apple cider courtesy of the Cottage Gift Shop.

5:20 PM – Christmas Blessing
Pastor Jonathan Tarman of Sanlando United Methodist Church will lead us in a blessing to mark the beginning of the Christmas season.

5:30 PM – Tree Lighting Ceremony
As the sun sets, we will have a countdown to the first lightning of the large tree on County Road 427 in front of the Longwood Inn and Clock Tower Park.

5:35 PM – Christmas Carolling
We will hand out songbooks and join voices to sing secular and sacred favorites.
